I have big news to tell.
Enrollment for my Intro to Japanese Calligraphy Online Course is closing!
I know. But its only temporary. I’m doing this for a few reasons. Let me explain.
When the course launched a bunch of students enrolled. A big part of of this course is the participation in the Facebook group. This is where students ask me questions, send me pictures of their work for feedback, and also they share their work among themselves. I find this to be extremely helpful. It keeps them motivated and enthusiastic.
As the group grows I find myself struggling to be able to give attention to each student. I know this course has the potential to reach a global audience and eventually become too big for me to handle.
That’s why I decided to control the enrollment times. So, I know I can give my full attention to those students who have taking the commitment to learn the art of Japanese Calligraphy.
A few weeks ago I updated the course and added a brand new lesson as well as some more PDF files to download. I will probably do some more of this in the future. Also, this summer I will be introducing assignments to students who are currently enrolled. This will be assignments students will complete and send to me for correction. This way they will have feedback and will be able to mark their progress.
So, enrollment for the course will close next Friday June 26, 2015.
Will it open again?
Yes. But I don’t know exactly when yet. Probably after the summer. This summer I am going to concentrate on all the new stuff I am going to create for currently enrolled students as well as creating brand new classes for students who are progressing beyond the introductory level.
If you’ve been thinking about enrolling in this course I will put the link at the bottom so you can enroll before Friday. If you want to enroll next time it opens, I will send an email announcing the opening dates.
I’m really excited about the new direction I’m taking the studio and this is one of the steps towards that. I will be sharing more changes soon.
